THE BENEFITS OF BUILDING BEYOND
“LEGO exposes students to basic science and engineering concepts, and an introduction to STEAM at an early age helps students to develop the critical thinking skills needed to excel in STEAM disciplines” – stemminds.com
“We designed the bricks and elements to be approachable—everything from the size of the bricks to the number of components to the colours we used—it was all thoughtfully designed to inspire kids who aren’t necessarily STEAM enthusiasts to try and test and build their confidence.” Siddharth Muthyala, Senior Concept Lead for LEGO Education, Forbes
“Those of us who are not white have considerably more trouble not only finding representation of ourselves in mass media and other arenas of public life, but also finding representation that indicates that our humanity is multi-faceted.” Jamil Smith, Time Magazine
“It’s critical to see ourselves reflected, both in the present moment and in the future. It reminds us that we will, indeed survive. It also celebrates all that our ancestors have survived in order for us to be possible in this moment, to document our existence and to imagine our futures. Reclaiming our imagination is a huge part of historical and contemporary Black resistance to injustice, we have dreamt up every freedom and then made it possible by our own hands.” Rania El Mugammar, Anti-Oppression Educator, Multi-disciplinary Artist
Clarence Wiley, Sr. –
Amazing concept. My 17 year old Autistic son loves Lego. He even has his own You Tube channel “dragon net 289”. He wants to be a Lego master artist like Mr. Nimako. He hasn’t had many role models of color to aspire him. Now he has one ! CJs Dad
Ekow –
Amazing to hear Clarence! Please let your son know that Ekow Nimako Studios wants him to to stay curious about the world, and of course to keep building.
All the best,
